“Alan, I’m struggling and I don’t know why…”
I was complaining about everything to my first mentor, Alan Jacques…
“I’m not making enough money… my business won’t grow… my customers are cheap… and I pay too much in taxes.”
And he said, “Stop… Dan, if your business sucks, it’s because you suck as a business person.”
See, most people try to start a business to quit their job, make more money, or have more freedom.
But they’re struggling to get customers, market their products, or build their brand on social media.
Because whatever problems they have in business, they probably have them in their life too.
If someone is having a hard time attracting customers, there’s a chance they’re struggling to make new friends… (and that was exactly me).
And it could be that their communication skills are lacking.
The point is, your business is always a reflection of you.
So whatever problems you have in business, find similar problems in your real life, solve them, and your business problems will be solved too.
Now, the example I mentioned earlier is the most common problem for most people - because they don’t know how to communicate and close, they can’t get the things they want.
