Over the weekend, we were in for a gastronomic experience during the Sunday Family Lunch at Seasonal Tastes, which is the signature dining venue in The Westin.
Sitting at the 32nd floor and featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant welcomed us with a panoramic view of our city skyline. What captured the little ones' attention once we entered was the specially set up Kids Corner where kids could tuck into their own mini buffet (including burgers, sandwiches and diced fruits), grab a packet of milk or juice, put on aprons and chef's hats as they decorate cookies - with lots and lots of icing, sprinkles and candy - and take home their favourite balloon sculpture too. For the adults, we were blown away by the freshness of the lobsters and prawns at the seafood corner. I'm not usually a seafood lover but this was really too good to be missed. The hubby, who is the seafood connoisseur in our house, said the oysters tasted superb and were not just huge but juicy and fresh too.
My favourite dishes were the laksa, chilli crab (drools!), salmon sashimi, roasted pork and Thai green curry. The desserts corner - with its huge variety of cakes, ice cream, traditional kuehs, fruits, jelly, pastry, cupcakes, tarts and chocolate fondue - made me feel spoilt for choice and I wish my stomach was bigger so I could have tried everything. Haha.
It was definitely a rare, wholesome treat for us and a great way to spend our Sunday afternoon. Thanks for having us, @thewestinsingapore.
P.S. I have to give credit to the staff who were not just friendly but super efficient in clearing our empty plates and making sure we were well taken care of. Thumbs up for the service!
