Back from a weekend at the seaside! I haven't been anywhere even for a weekend since January 2020, so a weekend away was well overdue! We had fish & chips on the beach, explored a castle, saw some friends and went to Brighton. I could stare at the sea for hours - there's something very relaxing about it. 🌊🍦

Bathing Boxes位於Bayside的Brighton Beach，是墨爾本郊區熱門景點，海灘整排的彩虹小屋在1800年代卻是海灘更衣用的屋子。

對！在那個年代，這些彩繪了不同圖案的海濱小屋，在最開始19世紀初的時候其實是專門租給來海邊度假的人更衣的～

這星期六開始在Governors Island有一項特別的藝展，就是會展出超過兩百件美國監獄受刑人的藝術作品，讓參觀者對一般受刑人有新的認識，也可以更瞭解美國獄政改革的狀況。

推廣街頭藝術不遺餘力的Bushwick Collective去年因為疫情而停辦的Bushwick Collective Block Party這星期六強勢回歸！除了來自各地的街頭藝術家現場創作外，也有多位嘻哈樂手的演唱會。將是這週末最嗨的活動！

這禮拜強勢回歸的活動還有在街坊節很受歡迎的Japan Fest。星期天在4th Avenue bet. E. 9th & 10th St這個block將全部是日式街頭小吃的攤位。來自台灣的Catmint車輪餅也會來這擺攤。

在布魯克林規模最大之一的街坊節Brighton Jubilee這星期天在俄羅斯移民眾多的Brighton Beach Avenue舉行，除了有多項表演活動外，蛤可以在這裡吃到俄羅斯，東歐，土耳其等多國美食。也可以順便到Brighton Beach海邊走走。

＊8/29 (Sun) Battle of Brooklyn: An Eighteenth-Century American Faire
在美國獨立歷史相當重要的Battle of Brooklyn是在1776年發生在現在的Greenwood Cemetery一帶。這星期天就在Greenwood Cemetery有紀念活動，包括真人古裝重演當年美軍在這裡力抗英軍的戰役。是認識美國歷史富有教育意義的活動。如果沒來過Greenwood Cemetery，這也是一個好幾會來參觀這個美麗的墓園。

During the month of October me and my mum set out on a mission to start cold water training in the freezing winter waters of England in the hopes of becoming hardcore!
While watching Eco-Challenge 2020 my mum was inspired to start cold water training to try and become hardcore like the athletes on the show. Unfortunately me and the rest of my family were forced into.
We did some wild swimming in the Jubilee River as well as the Thames River and Brighton Beach. We also got sprayed with a freezing cold hose while trying to hold yoga poses. It was a wild and crazy month of cold water training!
