- Cách trả lời đạt điểm cao Speaking theo chủ đề HISTORICAL EVENTS (Sự kiện lịch sử) nha.
Part 1: Do you like to learn about history? (Bạn có thích học lịch sử không?)
(Answer) Wow, I am into reading history, not only of our country, Vietnam but also other countries in the world. (Reason) History is not only a subject to me, it is also a source of invaluable information about our origin as well as the victorious past of our ancestors.
Part 2: Describe a historical event that you like the most. (Mô tả mọt sự kiện lịch sử mà bạn thích nhất)
(Answer) Honestly speaking, everytime I am asked about history, I am always eager to talk about Vietnam war, which ends in 1975 and one of the historical highlights of our country. Vietnam undergone hundreds of years under the colonization of foreign invaders and this is the last war before a new era of peace and independence is opened for us.
(Reason) It is an unforgettable period of history for some reasons. Firstly, it is the courageous fighting spirit of Vietnamese people. (Example) Our country was divided into Nothern part and Southern part. Communication was almost impossible at that time and people across the country were living in poverty and destitute conditions. However, our soldiers still fought bravely with the support from ordinary people.
(Reason) Secondly, this is remarkable because hardly anyone could think that we could win the war. (Example) When compared to such a well-armed country like America, it was hard to think that we could defeat them. However, with the determination of the whole nation, we have our own peace. April 30th, 1975 was the date that we gained independence from the invaders and from then on, we have held annual celebration to pay tribute to those who sacrificed for the country. I hope that Vietnamese people will never forget this important event of the nation.

Project 404 was the code name for covert operations by the United States Air Force during American efforts in Laos. From 1966 to 1973. The US Air Force provided advisors. Because Laos declared it's neutrality to the war between the US and North Vietnam. US Airmen did not wear uniforms but instead civilian attire.
Project 404 was the successor to Operation White Star. The goal of 404 was to provide the Royal Lao Air Force the necessary support in battling the Pathet Lao Communists. Originally the USAF did have some prior experience in Laos with programs such as the "Butterflies" which allocated a total of four Air Force NCOs. All of them sergeants who were from Combat Control Teams. These first airmen wore civilian uniforms and flew shotgun in Air America aircraft. Often riding with Lao or Thai interpreters. These Airmen helped to coordinate airstrikes. The three known of these airmen were Major John J. Garrity Jr, Master Sergeant Charles Larimore Jones, and Tech Sergeant James J. Stanford.
The program was going pretty well until General William Momyer discovered that enlisted men were in charge of the strikes and not officers. This ended the program as Momyer wanted rated fighter pilots. Despite end of the Butterfly program. Palace Dog was formed in response with the CIA coming up with a plan. This involved using Laotian interpreters to ride in aircraft flown by Americans. Thus leading to the Ravens. Ravens which acted as Forward Air Controllers.
Ravens had to have at least 60 days of service in Vietnam along with a certain number of flight times as a pilot or FAC. These men were screened by the 56th SOW at Nakhon Phanom RTAFB then assigned to the US Embassy in Vientiane. There they were given false identification and civilian clothing for the duration of their tour. These Airmen instead of reporting to an officer. Reported into the American Ambassador. This caused a lot of friction between US Military Commanders like Momyer or Westmoreland. Often Ravens suffered repercussions as the Air Force viewed this as an offensive.
23 Ravens died in Laos along with an army attache by the name of Joseph Bush.
For more information I strongly recommend The Ravens Website. Or books such as "The Ravens: The Men Who Flew in America's Secret War in Laos."

▒ 渡辺 眸《東大全共闘1968‐1969》 ▒
TODAI ZENKYOTO 1968-1969
"1968 was a year of instability - with the prolonged Vietnam war, student protests in Paris, repression of Czechoslovakia by those countries which were shaken by the ‘Prague Spring’. America saw the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy. On the other hand, the Apollo mission landed on the moon the following year.
1968 was also the year I began photography. I wandered around downtown Shinjuku with a camera, capturing people and whatever caught my attention. One night, I came across a crowd causing great turmoil in Shinjuku. I learned that it was an international anti-war protest. Before that, the Vietnam War had seemed to me merely information transmitted from the media, but I felt its reality after joining the protest. As the Riot Police searchlight lit up students' helmets in the heaving crowd, their silhouettes would shiver violently. Student Power in Japan became a powerful tide fighting against society.
Around that time, I stepped foot into Tokyo University's Hongo Campus for the first time, and met Yoshitaka Yamamoto, who was then representative of Todai Zen-kyoto. He inspired me. It was he who made me so determined to document the Todai protests. Inside the barricades actually was an open space, into which non-local students, the general public and even high school students could go.
Forty-seven years have now passed since then, and some memories are dimming - but film creates new memory. The spirit of Zen-kyoto is brought back to life."

Giap's Original Video:https://youtu.be/LgAED4TBPN8
After 1975, hundreds of thousands of people from Vietnam got on boats to leave post war. Those who survived the seas made it to refugee camps all over Southeast Asia, from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, to Hong Kong. And eventually, some had a chance to resettle in America, Canada, Australia, and many parts of Europe. This is a story about three friends who found each other after 40 years. I met Giap in New Jersey a few years ago and he asked me to make a video about his life story. I agreed and after publishing it, two of Giap's refugee camp friends, who were also viewers of this channel, recognized him and saw themselves in my video. They reached out and I connected them to Giap. Giap connected his friends Thanh from Los Angeles and Phuong from San Diego together. They met right away. Giap also met Phuong two years ago in Da Nang. But Giap just met Thanh and the three of them were finally together after 40 years.

?? With my new haircut, I was ready to rock and roll and explore Vietnam's major northern port city, Hai Phong. This city has an awesome history. Built and established during French occupation, many of the local buildings still show signs of French influence, such as the local train station. Some locals even still remember when the French were here. Later on during the Vietnam War, Hai Phong being a major port city, America dropped large numbers of bombs in the city as well as at the ports. After exploring in the city, I went out to the ports to have a look around. You might find it interesting. Join me.
