ในอดีตเมื่อพูดถึงบริษัทเครื่องบินเบอร์หนึ่งของโลกคงหนีไม่พ้นชื่อ Boeing
แต่ถ้าเทียบกับ Airbus แล้ว ตอนนี้เป็นอย่างไร?

Airbus เป็นบริษัทสัญชาติยุโรป ส่วน Boeing เป็นบริษัทสัญชาติอเมริกัน
ในภาพรวมการประกอบธุรกิจนั้นจะแบ่งเป็น 3 ส่วนหลัก
1.การประกอบเครื่องบินทั่วไปที่เราใช้นั่งกันทุกวันนี้
2.เครื่องบินทางทหารรวมทั้งโครงการเกี่ยวกับอวกาศ
3.ธุรกิจการให้บริการ เช่น การซ่อมบำรุง
ซึ่งเรียกได้ว่าทั้ง 2 บริษัททำธุรกิจแทบจะเหมือนกันทุกอย่าง
ทีนี้ก็คงเกิดคำถามว่า 2 บริษัทนี้ใครใหญ่กว่ากัน?

ปัจจุบัน Boeing มีสำนักงานใหญ่อยู่ที่เมืองชิคาโก้ รัฐอิลลินอยส์ ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา บริหารภายใต้ CEO คนใหม่คือคุณ Dennis Muilenburg ซึ่งทำงานอยู่ที่ Boeing มาตั้งแต่ปี 1985
ส่วน Airbus มีสำนักงานใหญ่อยู่ที่เมือง Toulouse ประเทศฝรั่งเศส บริหารภายใต้ CEO คือคุณ Tom Enders ซึ่งเป็นอดีตหัวหน้าการป้องกันทางอากาศและโครงการเกี่ยวกับอวกาศของยุโรป
แม้ว่าทั้งสองบริษัทเองจะเป็นคู่แข่งกันทางการตลาดมาตลอดอย่างยาวนานแต่ทั้งสองบริษัทก็มีโมเมนต์ที่ชื่นชมกันเองเช่นกัน
โดยล่าสุดเมื่อเดือน มกราคมที่ผ่าน Airbus พึ่งได้ทำการเปิดตัวเครื่องบินยาวที่สุดในโลก ประเภทมีทางเดินระหว่างที่นั่งเส้นเดียว A321LR
หลังจากที่ Airbus ประกาศเปิดตัวไปไม่นานคู่แข่งอย่าง Boeing ก็ได้เข้ามา comment ทันทีว่า Congratulations to @Airbus for completing the first flight of the #A321LR. Competition makes us all better!
ซึ่งดูแล้วก็ให้ข้อคิดที่ว่า
ในบางครั้งเราอาจจะมองว่าการแข่งขันเกิดแต่ผลเสีย แต่ถ้าเรามองอีกมุมหนึ่งการแข่งขันก็ช่วยให้เราพัฒนาตัวเองให้ดีกว่าเมื่อก่อนเช่นกัน
สำหรับอนาคตเราก็คงต้องมาติดตามกันต่อว่าทาง Boeing เองจะมีกลยุทธ์ใดเพื่อมาชิงตลาดเครื่องบินทั่วไปจาก Airbus คืนหรือว่าจะปล่อยให้ Airbus เป็นเจ้าตลาดต่อไปแล้วไปโฟกัสที่ตลาดอื่นแทน..
